The future of the TrekCraft build server
March 20th, 2024
Hey folks,
Yesterday I shared a note to our community talking about the future of TrekCraft and our build server. The tl;dr is that the public Minecraft server will be closing as of March 31st, 2024. TrekCraft the Discord server, Twitter, YouTube, and more will go on as a place for Trek fans to share their work and passion. The build server however will be closing down for the last time.
If you haven't I'd urge you to read my post which goes into some more details for why we're doing this. The short version though is we're tired. Myself and staff team have put a lot of time, money, and energy into making TrekCraft the amazing place it is. But moderating and administrating a community means we spend most of our time not having fun building - But keeping things running smoothly for everyone else. We really enjoyed doing it for a while, and we're super proud of what we've acomplished. But it's time for us to wind down a bit, scale back, and get back to enjoying the builds.
It should go without saying that I hope everyone whose ever supported us, followed us, or just checked in will continue to do so. We may not be open to the public anymore but many of us will continue working on these projects in singleplayer. I hope folks keep posting what they're up to in the Discord, I love seeing the amazing work and talent of our community.
Lastly - A thank you, a big thank you to our amazing build team. We've built a small family of builders over the years and I've been consistently amazed by the talent and dedication. We might not see eachother as often anymore, but I truly hope everyone keeps in touch, stays safe, and keeps the dream alive <3
Tons of love,
- Pan
