Builder Rules & Standards
As a TrekCraft builder, you're part of a collaborative team working on ambitious, long-term projects. These rules ensure quality, consistency, and a positive building environment.
- Planning Required: Always use planning blocks for any project before building
- Scale Standards: Corridors generally should be 3-4 blocks wide, decks 3-5 blocks tall
- Hull Work First: Complete hull-cleaning and deck planning before interior work
- Fill Dead Space: Minimize exposed block faces and empty areas
- Modern References: Try to use current, modern builds as 1:1 reference. Inspiration from older projects is fine
- Group Contribution: Every builder is encouraged to support community builds, or group builds when possible
- Staff Approval: Staff approval is not required for new projects, but we do appretiate a heads up on new imports
- Archive Policy: Map backups are limited. Builders are responsible for archiving and backing up their own work
- Open to Feedback: Be receptive to both positive and constructive criticism
- High Standards: We hold each other to S-tier building standards
- Constructive Criticism: Provide helpful, specific feedback to other builders
- Continuous Improvement: Focus on learning and growing, not defending past work
- Plot Limits: Each builder has their own 2500x2500 block plot. Please keep any projects within the bounds of these plots. Staff can assign group yards when needed
- Lag-Heavy Blocks: Limit use of Item Frames, Custom Models, Doors, Redstone, Beds
- Signage: Limit to hero areas or planning purposes only
- Performance: Consider server performance when building large structures
- Resource Usage: Be mindful of server resources and storage
